Window guide

Repair notes for window guide

Fault cause:

Contamination and cleaning agent with silicone between the window guide and the side frame cause a groaning noise.

Repair instructions:

  • Thoroughly clean the contact surfaces of the window guide on the side frame/trim strip with cleaning agent number 601 (see document Auxiliary and operating fluids)
  • With the door closed, mask the window guide along the side frame so that the contact surface of the window guide on the side frame is visible. To do so use adhesive tape No. 112 (see document Materials and Consumables).
  • Open the door and carefully heat the contact surface of the window guide on the side frame at a temperature below 15°C using a hot air blower
  • Fix adhesive tape number 104 (see document Auxiliary and operating fluids) to the contact surface of the window guide, along the side frame (see graphics 2 and 3)

Note: The adhesive tape must be fixed so that it has no air bubbles.

  • Remove adhesive tape number 112 (see document Auxiliary and operating fluids) at the side frame
